This item is inspired by 2004 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate the late Professor Wangari Maathai who used the Hummingbird story to rally the world to do something about the environment.
The story of the hummingbird that decided to do something about a forest fire while all the other animals in the forest watched powerless and mocked it. The hummingbird said, ‘I’m going to do something about the fire!’
Our Hummingbirds are handmade with recycled tin and metal. If you hang them under a spotlight, they cast amazing shadows. It is great for children to look at, but not to touch. The elegant piece is influenced by the traditional Japanese craft of kirigami (which is both the cutting and folding of paper).
Price: From KSh 1,000 depending on size.
